We are currently looking for Manager of Data Catalog and Compliance, who will join our client's Global IT & Data Site in Katowice. The work model will be hybrid.
Your new role
The Manager of Data Catalog and Compliance will be responsible for the overall management and maintenance of the company's data catalog, as well as ensuring compliance with all relevant data regulations. This includes ensuring data is accurate, up-to-date, and easily accessible to internal stakeholders, while also ensuring the company is in compliance with industry regulations such as GDPR and HIPAA. It also includes partnering and closely working with the vendor of the selected data catalog.
Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain the company's data catalog
• Work with the data steward community manager and data community to ensure that data catalog structure is accurate, up-to-date, and easily accessible to internal stakeholders
• Identify new data sources and implement best practices for data governance in the context of the data catalog
• Work closely with other departments and stakeholders to understand data needs and ensure data is meeting their requirements
• Develop and implement policies and procedures for data management and compliance together with the legal and compliance department
• Stay informed of industry trends and best practices in data management and compliance
• Ensure the company is in compliance with all relevant data regulations, such as GDPR and HIPAA
• Work closely and partner with the data catalog vendor on all aspects of the tool management (new features / updates / enhancement / licensing)
• Provide training and support to users of the data catalog
• Review and update data governance policies and procedures as needed in the context of the data catalog

What you'll need to succeed

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or related field
• Background in information science and data management
• Minimum of 3 years of experience managing data catalogs (such as Collibra, Informatica) or comparable information systems
• Experience working with data management tools and technologies
• Knowledge of data governance and compliance best practices
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience with data protection and privacy regulations such as GDPR and HIPAA
